THE ETHEREUM BLOCKCHAIN—In an innocent effort to emit unprecedented levels of greenhouse-gasses in exchange for modest gains in financial royalties, poor K-pop label executives were subjected to a lot of harsh and hurtful comments by netizens about the labels’ NFT ventures.
At a press conference designed to obfuscate their intention to further pollute the planet, humble label executives announced the availability of new NFTs commemorating idols who once called for an end to the worldwide climate crisis at the United Nations.
“We’ve heard your concerns about how our extractive capitalistic ventures in nonfungible tokens (NFTs) could greatly worsen the global climate crisis. That’s why, today, we’ll be minting new limited edition NFTs of BTS and Blackpink speaking at the United Nations on the topic of Global Warming. While these NFTs may, in fact, worsen the problem, what’s great is that they’re ‘decentralized’ photos—which means that all k-pop fans can have access to them.”
Later that day, hateful netizens unleashed malicious comments aimed at label executives. As many of the comments drove down company stock prices, it was clear from executive facial expressions during last earnings calls that the mean comments impacted them.
