SEOUL—According to highly accurate fact-based news outlets such as Allkpop, Dispatch, and Koreaboo, all 7 members of GOT7 will not be renewing contracts with JYP Entertainment (JYPE).
In response, at a recent press briefing held at JYPE headquarters Park Jin-young (JYP) asked: “Who heard anything about GOT7 disbanding?” After seeing all reporters’ hands simultaneously go up, the company founder and executive defensively remarked, “Look, it’s hard to tell if there’s a fire here with all the smoke in the way.”
Despite JYPE press statements indicating that contract negotiations were still ongoing, all seven members are set to fulfill what k-pop circles call the “seven year curse” … also known as “healthily advancing one’s career as a solo artist.”
“This has been a JYP production,” the CEO said as he left the stage and the raging fire consumed the building.
