BLACKPINK’s Lisa to Reprise Her Role as Emotionally Abusive Asian Tiger Mom on iQIYI ‘Youth With You’ Survival Show

GUANGDONG—Expressing disappointment in her fans and reality show trainee contestants, Lisa of BLACKPINK wrote on her personal Weibo that she would reprise her role as an emotionally abusive Asian Tiger Mom for the third season of iQIYI’s ‘Youth With You.’

“Why can’t you dance better? I told you to smile but you just ignore my words and you just -? You’ll never be like your cousins who debuted with CUBE, JYP or YG,” said Lisa after evaluating a B+ performance from survival show competitors. “You don’t have to be sorry to me, you just have to be sorry to all your fellow contestants, show producers, and the millions of watchers of this show. Apologize to them.”

In a post-show interview, reporters asked Lisa for tips in how they could give their own children overwhelming guilt and anxiety. “Pretend like you care so much about them,” Lisa cheerily explained, “that you just want the best for them with your unrealistic expectations.”
