SEOUL — After repeated attempts to pass Aespa as a new AI-generated virtual group, SM Entertainment’s head producer Lee Soo Man announced the rebranding of the rookie girl group Aespa. The move arrives as many SYNKs mistook K/DA’s latest single “MORE” as Aespa’s early comeback.
Lee Soo Man provided his rationale for the swift decision. “As I have previously stated, the future involves a world of celebrity, robots, and AI created from the training data of hundreds of unoriginal groups before them. When we created Aespa’s AI avatars using footage from K/DA, it was an unfortunate consequence that SYNKs confused our banal artists with other groups in the expanded SM Culture Universe.”
At the time of the press briefing, Lee Soo Man provided members of the media with subtle hints for the new naming of the 4-member group. NoireRosé was clued as an alternate French version of the virtual idols.
